Weather conditions are favourable.

On the A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway between the Otok Svibovski junction ad Zagreb istok paytoll the queue in direction Lipovac is 2 km long.
Spilled liquid on the A1 motorway at the Sveti Rok tunnel towards Zagreb - one lane is free only (40 km/h)!

Traffic is dense in cities and on their bypass roads.
During the day difficulties can occur in roadwork areas - in Istria on the A8 highway between the Učka junction and Učka tunnel, on the DC1 Solin-Klis highway, on the A3 Zagreb bypass road and on the A7 Rijeka bypass road, on several sections of the DC1 state road and of the DC8 Adriatic road.

Drivers are invited to adjust the speed and the way of driving to the road conditions and to keep distance!

Traffic restrictions:
A1 Zagreb-Ploče-Karamatići motorway:
  • until 15 May at the Plasina and Grič tunnels on the section Otočac-Perušić traffic is proceeding in one lane only in each direction;
  • until 12 June traffic is suspended between the Bisko and Split junctions in direction Zagreb, detour: Bisko junction (A1 exit)-DC220-ŽC6260-ŽC6145-DC1-Dugopolje/Split; possible A1 entrance at the Dugopolje paytoll in direction Zagreb, impossible A1 entrance at the Bisko junction in direction Zagreb; traffic jams should be expected at the Bisko and Split paytolls;
  • between the Karlovac and Jastrebarsko junctions at 33rd km in direction Zagreb one lane is free only (60 km/h);
  • until 12 June at the Babića bridge (Babića most) at 131st km between the Žuta Lokva and Otočac junctions one lane is free only in each direction;
  • until 20 May 11pm-5am traffic is occasionally suspended for 15 minutes at the Bisko junction;
  • 11-14 May 10pm-4am traffic is suspended twice for 15 minutes at the Vodice junction (A1 entrance) and Zadar istok junction (A1 exit) due to abnormal load;
  • until 3 June 10pm-4am traffic is suspended for seven times for 15 minutes at the Vodice junction (A1 entrance) and Zadar istok junction (A1 exit) due to abnormal load;
  • 13 May 8am-6pm traffic is suspended between the Ploče junction and Karamatići paytoll in both directions, detour: ŽC6208-DC62-ŽC6276;
A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway:
  • until 15 June roadwork is in progress at the Zaprešić paytoll (less entrance/exit lanes will be open);
  • until 18 June at the Frukov Krč tunnel 5th-2nd km one lane is free only in each direction;
A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway:
  • until 13 May between the Popovača and Kutina junctions 93rd-90th km in direction Zagreb traffic is flowing in reduced lanes;
  • until 1 June at the Zagreb (Plitvice) rest area 16th-17th km traffic is proceeding in reduced lanes in both directions (60 km/h);
  • until 30 June at the Zagreb zapad junction from direction Lipovac (A3) towards Zagreb, from direction Bregana (A3) and Macelj (A2) towards Zagreb (Sava bridge-Jankomir) traffic is flowing in one lane only;
  • 12 May 7am-10am traffic is occasionally suspended for 15 minutes at the Slavonski Brod istok junction in both directions;
  • 11-20 May 00.01am-5am traffic is occasionally suspended for 15 minutes at the Bregana paytoll;
  • until 20 May 1am-5am traffic is occasionally suspended for 15 minutes at the Zagreb istok and Otok Svibovski junctions;
  • until 30 May 1am-5am at the Zagreb zapad junction traffic is suspended for 15 minutes from direction Lipovac towards the A2 motorway;
A4 Zagreb-Goričan motorway:
  • until 15 May at the Zagreb istok junction one lane is free only in both directions (traffic jams should be expected);
  • until 20 May 00.01am-4am at the Zagreb istok junction traffic is occasionally closed for 15 minutes due to abnormal load;
A6 Rijeka-Zagreb motorway:
  • until 11 May between the Čavle and Orehovica junctions 78th-80th km traffic is flowing in one lane only in both directions;
  • until 25 May on the section Čavle-Kikovica 71st-75th km one lane is free only in each direction;
  • until 25 May between the Delnice and Vrata junctions traffic is proceeding in one lane only in both directions due to roadwork at the Sopač tunnel;
  • 12 May 11am-2pm traffic is closed at the Cernik rest area towards Zagreb due to firefighter roadwork;
  • until 12 June between the Bosiljevo 2 and Vrbovsko junctions at the Zečeve Drage viaduct one lane is free only in each direction;
  • until 2 June midnight-4am between the Rijeka paytoll and Kikovica junction (DC3 entrance/exit) traffic is occasionally closed for 15 minutes;
A8/A9 highway in Istria
  • traffic jams are possible between the Učka junction (A7) and Učka tunnel in both directions;
  • between the Kanfanar and Medaki junctions at the Limska Draga viaduct there is a traffic ban on abnormal load larger than 3,3 m in both directions;
DC1 Macelj-Zagreb-Karlovac-Gračac-Knin-Sinj state road:
  • until 27 June traffic is closed at the Krapina viaduct;
DC1 Solin-Klis highway:
  • due to roadwork on the section Klis Grlo-Solin traffic is proceeding in one lane only in each direction until 1 June;
DC8 Adriatic road:


DC25 Karlobag-Baške Oštarije state road:
  • 14 May noon-8pm traffic is occasionally closed due to film shooting;
DC44 Livade-Istarske Toplice state road:
  • until 20 June traffic is suspended on the section Livade-Istarske Toplice;
DC75 Novigrad-Poreč state road:
  • until 20 June traffic is closed on the section Tar-Bašarinka;
DC106 Pag bridge:
  • 13 May traffic is occasionally closed due to film shooting;
DC512 Makarska-Ravča state road:
  • due to rock sliding traffic is suspended at the Stupica tunnel towards Vrgorac;
DC547 Sveti Rok-Jasenice state road:
  • traffic is closed due to road damage.

At the border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro a new system of entering/exiting the country (so called Entry/Exit System - EES) is applied. It means that apart from having travel documents biometric passenger data will be collected (four fingerprints and face photo). The law does not refer to EU citizens.

Notifications about waiting time at border crossings are subject to frequent changes. Access to cameras at border crossings is provided on the Croatian Automobile Club website.

Until 31 December 2026 at the Erdut-Bogojevo border crossing there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles exceeding 7,5 tonnes.

The Gunja-Brčko border crossing is closed for all traffic, detour: Županja-Orašje border crossing.

At the Ilok-Bačka Palanka bridge traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 24 tonnes (driving speed limit of 30 km/h).

Starting 3 Junly 2023 international traffic is possible at the Slivno-Drinovačko Brdo border crossing.

Transit freight traffic is suspended at the Tovarnik/Šid border crossing, detour: Bajakovo border crossing.

Traffic is suspended for vehicles whose maximum weight exceeds 7,5 tonnes at the Pribanjci-Vinica border crossing on the DC204 state road.

The Dvor and Vitaljina border crossings are open for pedestrians and passenger traffic only.

The border crossings for the international maritime traffic are: Umag, Pula, Mali Lošinj, Vis, Ubli and Cavtat (Book of Regulations on border crossings of the Republic of Croatia, pubblished at the Narodne novine, 2 January

Due to roadwork delays should be expected on the following sections as passengers are transported by buses:
- between the Križevci and Gyekenyes railway stations on the rail state border-Botovo-Dugo Selo,
- between the Varaždin and Koprivnica railway stations on the rail Varaždin-Koprivnica,
- between the Kloštar and Koprivnica, Osijek and Bizovac railway stations on the rail Koprivnica-Dalj,
- between the Novska and Sisak Caprag railway stations on the rail Zagreb-Sisak-Novska,

Driving restrictions for heavy goods vehicles

Summer restrictions on freight vehicles

15 June-15 September there are traffic restrictions on freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes on Saturdays 4am-2pm, on Sundays noon-11pm and on holidays 3pm-11pm on the following roads:

- DC8-DC40 Bakar junction-Zadar-Split-Klek border crossing-Zaton Doli border crossing-Dubrovnik-Karasovići border crossing (except on the part DC27-Šibenik bridge-Šibenik-DC58, Bilice roundabout at Solin-Stobreč);
- DC9-Metković-Opuzen-DC8;
- DC21 Kaštel border crossing-Buje-Kanfanar junction (except on the part DC21 Kanfanar-Pula-DC66);
- DC23 Žuta Lokva-Senj;
- DC39-A1-Šestanovac roundabout-DC8-Dupci;
- DC66 Pula junction (A9)-Raša-Opatija-DC8;
- DC200 Buje (DC21)-Plovanija border crossing;
- DC300 Buje (DC21)-Umag;
- Ž5002 Novigrad-Tar-Poreč-Vrsar (DC21);

Traffic restrictions for transit freight vehicles through Croatia:
  • For freight vehicle exceeding 7,5 tonnes there is a traffic ban on the DC414 state road from DC8-DC414 intersection to Prapratno junction as well as from Prapratno junction to Komarna junction (Pelješac bridge and its access roads).
  • According to the Book of regulations for public road transit traffic, freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes without a trailer/with a trailer longer than 14 m are allowed to use the following roads:

Traffic forecast for 14 May 2026

Due to strong wind in the northern coastal area, especially on the DC8 Adriatic road, there can be traffic bans on some vehicles. In the interior fog is possible. Due to low temperatures roads can be very slippery. 

Traffic will be dense in cities and on their bypass roads.
During the day difficulties can occur in roadwork areas - in Istria on the A8 highway between the Učka junction and Učka tunnel, on the DC1 Solin-Klis highway, on several sections of the DC1 state road and of the DC8 Adriatic road.

At the border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia there can be delays in freight traffic.
In ferry traffic difficulties are not expected.
